Hellboy XMas cards are live in my Etsy! Order soon!
My boyfriend took me to see Wreck it Ralph this past weekend, and I really identified with Vanellope! It just so happened I drove Drew’s car earlier that day, and we’d had similar conversation about how I feel like I needed to be behind a wheel.
We had no clue that the movie was going to be so centered around cars, and the two of us loving kustom car culture, I was all too excited to do a Vanellope version of the old school Lady Luck symbol! I don’t usually do appropriations, or fan art for that matter; I was overcome with ambition and excitement! So much so that I haven’t slept yet and the sun is about to come up. It seemed too appropriate. This is also my first FULL digital piece!
Enjoy!
I am so stupid happy with the pencil work for my OC, Death’s trendy son, the Grind Reaper. I’m going to share them with you before I ink. I get super nervous when I fall in love with my pencil work; so i’m going to tread lightly and scan before I ink, and try inking a few different ways.
I packed in some super silly details.. Like the DAD scythe/hour glass tattoo, Grind Reaper stomach rocker, candy corn plugs, creature riprider skateboard (I’ve always wanted one; living vicariously through my illustrations again!!), tombstone brimmed baseball hat, and scythe key fob.
Aiming to have this done by Friday for a Halloween art show at Tattooed Moms so keep an eye out!! Ill update with finished inks and watercolors if time allows :)

We had a blast, the model was a doll and my sketches turned out fun and bubbly!
I surprise myself with my own work sometimes, which I guess is a good thing!
Thanks again to Paul Palko for pulling things together!
