Registration was unbelievably rough on my fellow illustrators this year with their increased screening. I am fortunate to have been selected, but I’m also a bit disappointed in the con for denying a few deserving artists I personally know for sure utilize their pro badges to the best extent of networking and making the con a more fruitful place.
That being said I’ll upping my game a bit; I’m working on a NEW promo item, which I will be giving away for free to anyone who can find and chat with me, just like I do every year! The closer we get to the convention, the more I’ll post about it.

I’ve never had a problem with payment or had to issue refunds before so I never felt compelled to list any terms on my blog, however I recently had an issue with shipping a piece to a customer. Through no fault of mine or the customer- the package just did not make it to it’s destination. It was international, which made it worse, so I reconsidered a one time refund as I realized I never clarified any of these terms on my blog. I feel obligated to define these rules in hopes to avoid another incident from happening as it affects both seller and buyer! I love my work and I know you my followers do as well, but when stuff goes wrong I want you to know I do the best I can to make it right. The best way to do that is defining the boring business end so we can get back to the art! :D

First of all- All sales are final. I do NOT issue refunds on original artwork or sourced work (terrariums, antiques, requested work) unless something exceedingly difficult happens, and I will from this point forward subtract 15% for my labor and time + full shipping (I can not reclaim shipping unless your piece has not been posted). I do not just sell a product- I am providing a service that exceeds a physical representation of my HARD work and effort. I am not a walmart- I do not mass produce large quantities. I am an artist; everything I create takes time away from other art I could be creating. I don’t have time to waste like that. That being said- if you purchase a shirt or goods item from me that deteriorates or is lacking in promised quality- I will reissue a new one or offer you a full refund (not including shipping) depending on my stock. I sell quality goods- nothing cheap! So if there is ever an issue with quality make sure to contact me and I will make it right.

Second- I put a good majority of my proceeds back into purchasing more supplies, better supplies, and investing in new tools. The more money I make the better quality of sourced objects, paints, experiments in new ways to bring you my work. If it’s not going to supplies its sending me abroad to promote/network my art, paying my rent, and possibly student loans. If I am kind enough to reconsider and offer a refund to you, please be prepared to wait up to 30 days for a refund. The aforementioned comes due and I must pay it all on time, not unlike any of you. I put my customers first to the best of my ability but I must take care of these things before I can issue you a refund. Sometimes I am just not capable of issuing an instant refund. I know you understand, and I appreciate you patience.

Third- Tracking is included with your purchases, however- I will not insure packages unless specifically asked. The price of insurance will reflect in your shipping quote. Once your item leaves my hands it’s up to the postal system to deliver your package in one piece. That all being said, you must give me a proper shipping address! I have had a few pieces returned to me lately with proper shipping labels on them.. if that happens I will immediately alert you and repost your package. The postal system has been trouble to deal with lately so I must cross my t’s and dot my i’s. Basically- if you have a history with missing orders or live in a bad neighborhood - please insure your package! It bums me out just as much as you knowing you didn’t get that piece I spent a week working on!

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!
I just wanted to thank every single one of you for your contributions, large and small. By reblogging, purchasing, and enjoying my work you’ve helped me reach a MAJOR life goal.

I bought a 1953 Chevrolet 4dr 210 yesterday.

Some of you know I’ve had a few things come up which made the last month pretty hard on me, but I bounce back something awful hard, this time WITH WHEELS!

I have been creating, selling, scrimping and saving for months to finally be able to purchase a car so I might be able to move out of the city! It’s finally happening! I’ve been unemployed much too long for my liking. With the economy the way it is, and there are no applicable jobs in the city (especially for a young professional who doesn’t drive) I had to make some kind of a change. I’ve been told outright by two companies now that were crazy about me how they couldn’t hire me because I didn’t drive. So, ta-da! I’ll be driving her by the end of the month.

It looks pretty but don’t let her fool you, I’ve got a bunch of work to do on this “little” lady. It’s a running daily driver straight six, but it needs body work (rockers, spot welding, possibly some new floors) and interior (I am no stranger to upholstery work) which I (with the help of my boyfriend of course) will be doing on off time between job hunting and art making!
